The significance of language, multilingualism, language variation and linguistic competence is becoming increasingly recognised in view of current socio-cultural diversity and tension in social relations. The 5th Days of Linguistics conference focuses on measurement in Linguistics in the sense of assigning values and establishing methodical approaches that are theoretically and empirically sound.

The series of talks entitled Reise ins Web (‘Journey through the web’) – organised by ‘Travel Inside’, the Swiss travel industry’s leading print medium, is dedicated to this theme. As part of the ‘venture ideas’ programme, Roman Probst (Managing Director TRANSLATION-PROBST), René Hausammann (Director Technopark Winterthur), Frido Stutz (Managing Director Skyline Parking), Herbert Wattenhofer (Operations Manager ZHAW) and Kai Glatt (Director  venturelab) gave a joint presentation on this theme at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur.

Suisse-EMEX’08 is over. A total of 12,283 visitors from the marketing and events industry attended Switzerland’s largest trade fair for marketing, communication, events and promotions.

Suisse-EMEX’08 was a huge success and the exhibitors were completely satisfied with how things went. Instead of just being an observer, TRANSLATION-PROBST was right at the centre of the action with its booth right next to the MARCOM “experts’ stage”, where interesting talks were given and insider met with one other.

To mark the occasion of its participation in the Tourism Trade Fair TTW and the SuisseEMEX Communications Trade Fair, TRANSLATION-PROBST launched a competition.

On Wednesday, 28 November 2007, the competition prizes were awarded at the Restaurant National in Winterthur. Remo Lütolf, the most successful swimmer in Switzerland, presented the winners with attractive prizes having  a total value of more than 5000 Swiss francs.

In the epicentre – and not just as a participant: TRANSLATION-PROBST delivered positive headlines at X’06, the specialist trade fair for marketing, communication and events, organising an attractive competition for the public. 

However, the X’06 was by no means only a great success for the competition winners. Many young companies were offered the opportunity of presenting themselves to a wide public and a chance to establish valuable contacts.

Several thousand guests visited the announced public exhibition held in the Eulach halls in Winterthur. TRANSLATION-PROBST made use of this opportunity and increased its regional awareness level – a first step on the road to success.
