In simultaneous interpreting, speech is interpreted at the same time as it is spoken. The interpreter sits in a soundproof booth and listens to the speaker through headphones, and the interpreting, which occurs almost at the same time – (i.e. simultaneously) - is transmitted by microphone and can be heard by the conference participants with headphones.

This type of interpreting requires utmost concentration and an elevated level of professional competence. Due to the high level of exertion, simultaneous interpreters work in teams of at least two, alternating after a certain period of time.

• Examples of use: Large multilingual events, conferences, meetings and negotiations.
• Advantages: Practically no time is lost, as several languages can be interpreted simultaneously. Therefore your event remains dynamic and there are no restrictions for listeners and speakers.
• Disadvantages: This ideal form of communication has its price. As well as an interpreter’s fee, a rental fee is also payable for the interpreter’s booth.
