1) How happy are you working with TRANSLATION-PROBST?
I am very satisfied with the working relationship, especially the Italian service, the style and wording of which I like. However, translators shouldn’t only use terminology lists, they should also research terms on the websites of our partners, as certain expressions vary from company to company. Terminology lists cannot be flexible enough to take all of this into consideration.

2) Why did you choose TRANSLATION-PROBST to translate your texts? Does our terminology service have anything to do with your choice?
Because the quality of your translations is very good, and on the whole I am very satisfied with your work. I knew nothing about your terminology service beforehand.

3) What do you think of our terminology service? Are you happy with it?
I think it’s good that you offer such a service, and I am very pleased with it. We have been working together for about a year now, and your translators have slowly got to know our company in that time. Because of this, translations have improved a lot and so has the continuity.

4) You work for eev and so you work with marketing and technology every day.  Why is terminology so important in your industry?
I think we must distinguish between two cases here. On one hand we have the texts of our partners. As I said, terminology can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer; but in the text of one partner, the terminology must of course be coherent, otherwise the text is not reader-friendly. On the other hand we have our own texts.  In the interest of intelligibility, it is important that our texts are translated consistently.
Standardised terminology is, for me personally, important and I am confident that TRANSLATION-PROBST will research and translate our texts very well. Sometimes mistakes occur, because external translators translate the texts, but with some more research this can soon be improved.

5) Has anything changed for you or your firm since your texts have had consistent terminology?
As we check all incoming translations ourselves, we strive for the highest possible level of consistency when it comes to terminology. But of course we are always happy when the terminology is correct to start with!

6) With regards to our terminology service, what changes would you like to see in the future?
I think the service is good, all I would wish is for the translators to research our partners’ websites a bit more in the future, and to check and translate abbreviations. It is important to me that I can trust TRANSLATION-PROBST as far as this is concerned.
