When is notarisation necessary? A notarised translation can be used for all official transactions with public offices and institutions. Documents which frequently require notarised translation include:

• We can make a notarised statement that, as a recognised translation agency, we have translated the document as fully and accurately as possible. In most cases this is enough.
• To be valid under international law, documents, contracts and any other written instruments need what is known as a diplomatic recognition or legalisation in order to be legally effective. This means that in some situations even a certified translation will need to be additionally certified with an apostille.
